MAGAZINES & PUBLICATIONS
Tattle Magazine
Managing Editor
A magazine for pursuing a healthier lifestyle, environmentally-friendly living, and for those who ultimately seek joy. A magazine for everyone – from the well-known celebrity who is finding cleaner water sources for communities in need, to the neighbor next door who is teaching kids how to compost and gather food from their own garden.
I took a lead role as the Executive Editor and transitioned into the role of Managing Editor, during the years at the magazine. This was a start-up project and, although I have turned to focus on other projects, this national magazine continues to thrive under the direction of its publisher and staff.
The Glow Project Magazine
Managing Editor (from Executive Editor)
The Glow Project movie, was inspired by Sandra Yancey’s eWomenNetwork. This women’s networking group is comprised of 500,000 women connected through 118 chapters spread across North America. Yancey wanted publication to bring the organization together, so The Glow Project Magazine was created.
I was brought onto the project as an Executive Editor, through a separate publishing company, and soon took a more senior position as Managing Editor for this print publication.
The Poor Chef Magazine
Editor
The Poor Chef Magazine is the creation of Charles Mattocks. Mattocks is the NBC host of the healthy cooking segment, The Poor Chef, and the nephew of the reggae legend, Bob Marley. This magazine was published to help readers embrace a healthier lifestyle while continuing to live within their means.
I was brought onto this project as the magazine’s primary editor and I worked with a great team of writers (many who I still keep in touch with.) Although the scope of work was conducting full editing, I wrote several articles for the publication as well. This start-up magazine produced a few print issues, and is no longer in production, but the spirit of the magazine continues through the current work of it’s creator.
13 Minutes Magazine
Contributing Writer (Volume 2, Issue 2)
Conducted a full interview and wrote a two-page article on Flora Huihui Low, Founder of Ah! Gourmet. This publication’s focus was on high-Fashion and pop culture.
